In Clayton, GA--at the family home of a friend--we chanced upon a Wild Kingdom moment...it was a lesson, on life, in death, and it brought a needed moment for meaning, and perspective.

Working a Client property in the hills above Highlands, NC on Wednesday, luck would hold that I found a rather large morel morchella esculenta mushroom at the base of a support for the covered breezeway.

Not the largest I've found, but, still, it was more than a handful :)

Working at a property on the shore of Lake Burton this week, I helped plant a thousand perennials; beside--and between--long runs of stepping stones that run from the driveway to the boat house, out back; around the stones in the hillside; in the beds bordering; amongst the larger plants we planted, earlier this year.

Planting some seemingly 6,000+ annuals a the base of the rock wall (I know, right?!) separating the club house from the practice tees at TOtR, I was (again) brought to notice a marvel of our Creation; an entomological fantasy; another science project!

(harlequin glorybower (a.k.a., glorytree (a.k.a. peanut butter bush/tree))), in-bloom.

Marchantia polymorpha colony found @ Scaly Mountain Nursery (which is now the Highlands office of Alex Smith Garden Design) . . . two square metres of plant weirdness :)
