Prepping for pine straw,
Looking down, you were waiting.
Zygomycetes.

In the woods, fencing:
Basidiomycota,
Detail awaits.

Micro, and macro:
Multicellular fungi.
Humans have it good....

Telling when you grow,
Basidiomycota.
Sweet rain has fallen.

Ephemeral life,
You conquer death, full-circle,
Sporing future thought.

Supported by that
Where you once lived, at the edge.
Creamy white lining.

Outward you do reach,
Basidiomycota,
That we may enjoy.

In silence we talked
All about why we we did not:
You, friend, were all ears.
