(golden silk spider (a.k.a., banana spider)) spotted by Phillip in Albany, Georgia.
I captured this photo atop a six foot ladder, as she was feeding about 10' up at the center of her almost two-metre-diameter orb web. She was about 5", toe-to-toe-to-toe-to- (etc.), and over 2" head-to-tail.
Harmless, but I'd rather not walk into the web in the dark....

Oenothera speciosa found in the garden at Hillside, Saturday.
The petals are fantastic, but the quadripartite stigma at the tip of the pistil drives me absolutely insane with plant-lust :)
